POSITION

The Department supports Senate Bill 336.

PROBLEM/BACKGROUND

The PA 547 of 2004 was enacted to address sound issues related to nighttime operation of airboats near residential areas.  The legislation had a sunset provision to require revisiting the effectiveness of the regulations in addressing concerns of affected riparians.

DESCRIPTION OF BILL

SB 336 simply repeals the sunset clause of 2004 PA 547.
